WHEN EVENING COMES
By Ellie MycDwo
The crystal pillars in the hall
if the earth rumble, down they fall.
Though the earth shake, they never break,
Their faces glimmer on the floor
When evening comes, the sun grows red
And through the sky its color spread
Its golden rays pierce the days,
And paint the clouds its colors bled
The mountain slopes are e'er so white
They 'flect the sun, they 'flect the light,
The wind goes on, and it is strong,
The mountain stands throughout the night.
The dragon swoops beneath the sky
Its golden wings are e'er so high
Be not dismayed, it is portrayed
That the snake will fall soon by.
The crashing sea, it has a song
It will not stop, for it is dawn
And even when the night grows dim,
The singing will go ever on.
The branches wove on the tree
Making noise that sounded free
But when you took a better look
Freedom for you was not to be.
A flaming torch burns so bright
It guides you on through the night
The shadows fade and glance away
Going out beyond your sight
The stars above give witness to
The heavens sing their praise to you
The voice of light, you made us right
The narrow path now walk but few.
That's awesome!
