Life

I am a crackling fire
Racing place to place
I can't sit still
I never have
Life is a rushing river
drowning me out
Sweeping my embers away
until I am ash

Autumn's Song

By a Friend

When summer's colors have rung their gong,
It's finally time for Autumn's Song.
With blue sky in the strings,
You can't help but notice the color it brings.

Yellow is in the back row horns,
Filled with leaves, dry grass & corns.
Orange makes a lovely hue,
Playing drums, right on cue.

Brown plays piano with unnatural grace,
Decorating tree trunks with swirling lace.
Singing out, the star of the show,
Red shows its great, gaudy glow.

All together, in one symphony,
They sing their great song, for you and for me.
But then winter comes, we shed a tear,
But don't fear, the symphony returns, come next year.

All relation to colors or poems, living or dead, is completely coincidental.

Far Cries

Pleasurable words
Live on in thought
Writing great sentences
Without being taught
Far cries the eagle
"All is for naught"
But pleasurable words
Live on in thought.

nothing

The words fade into black,
but in my mind they linger still,
Taking my attention away
From things I need
Why am I writing this poem?
I need to get back
This nothing haunts my soul
Blue books are plaid
And nothing is the same anymore

The Empire Strikes Back: THE POEM

Darth said to Luke, "I am your father,"
Luke heard him out, but didn't bother
Then fell of the ledge into the ship

Chewie wagered to get Fett
Lando didn't take his little bet
The Princess is heartbroken
Han finally got frozen!

And the Emperor got to work
Building a Death Star that would lurk
On the edges of Endor where the Ewoks live,

So we wait for the episode
That brings this epic trilogy to a close
I think Luke will be a Jedi knight
And I really hope Solo doesn't die
Yes, I really hope Solo doesn't die....

Into the Light

Your lies haven't stopped
They've only subsided
The words that they say
Feel double-sided

You've locked me inside
The walls of this life
You won't let me out
Not even to hide

You're never enough
I need someone right
Who carries me home
Into the light

no one knew

The doorway
another time had sat
there
yellow walls framing blue
the canopy had placed me down
a curved brown head
spokes like a wheel
cold fresh air
the big grey stone
white, and black
swirling heel to heel
Tumbling down
laughter rang in the air
No one knew, no one thought
including me
Words and letters by the page
brought to me at bedtime's rage
clear glass panes
ringing still
with no one there
to hear them.

Carbonite: To all you Star Wars fans, I think you know what this is about.

CARBONITE
By Ellie MycDwo

You said you loved me,
And I love you too
But all I would say was "I know"

I taste our last kiss
It's fading too quickly
With only my tears left to show

And I can't believe
This pain that I'm feeling
Frozen in time
Carbonite

Yes, I can't believe
This pain that I'm feeling
Frozen in time
Caaaarrbonite...

:D There are actually two more verses, but they are a bit sentimental, so I won't post them here.

My longest poem: When Evening Comes

 WHEN EVENING COMES

By Ellie MycDwo

The crystal pillars in the hall
if the earth rumble, down they fall.
Though the earth shake, they never break,
Their faces glimmer on the floor

When evening comes, the sun grows red
And through the sky its color spread
Its golden rays pierce the days,
And paint the clouds its colors bled

The mountain slopes are e'er so white
They 'flect the sun, they 'flect the light,
The wind goes on, and it is strong,
The mountain stands throughout the night.

The dragon swoops beneath the sky
Its golden wings are e'er so high
Be not dismayed, it is portrayed
That the snake will fall soon by.

The crashing sea, it has a song
It will not stop, for it is dawn
And even when the night grows dim,
The singing will go ever on.

The branches wove on the tree
Making noise that sounded free
But when you took a better look
Freedom for you was not to be.

A flaming torch burns so bright
It guides you on through the night
The shadows fade and glance away
Going out beyond your sight

The stars above give witness to
The heavens sing their praise to you
The voice of light, you made us right
The narrow path now walk but few.
